Today we had a party for Carsten's first birthday! It turned out really well. We had about 20 adults and around 14 kids, so I was glad we booked the meeting room at our school! I decided to go with a barnyard theme since it was easy to develop ideas for. Carsten received some really nice gifts, most of which fit into the barnyard theme which was so cute! Overall it was a really nice time with all our friends and their kids. Here are some pictures that tell the story a little better!

When we first gave him the cake he shook his head saying, "no!" We took video of him eating his cake and I plan to post that in the next few days!
I made three different types of animal cupcakes...it was actually a lot of fun!

I had two games planned for the kids. Pin the tail on the horse and find the egg. I took real eggs and poked a small hole in the bottom. I stuck a toothpick in to get the egg out. I then washed and dried them. When they were dry I filled them with paper confetti and taped over the hole. One egg had a yellow "pom-pom" which I told the kids was a baby chick. Each kid got to find one egg and crack it into a basket. The one who had the chick inside won a prize. They all enjoyed it!

We also brought down the boys tent set with tunnels and their horse to ride on. Both were a huge success. All of the food was themed as well. We had:
- Deviled eggs
- Pigs in a blanket
- Chili cheese bean dip
- Veggies fresh off the farm
- Chicken feed (chex mix)
I love planning parties for the boys. I am already thinking about Rylan's which isn't until March!
