The Sweet Exchange

On Thursday I went to a women's event with our Sunday group. It was called, "The Sweet Exchange." We met at one of the ladies' houses and listened to another lady share her life story. It was a heart wrenching story to hear, but so encouraging to see how He "exchanged" her life for a new one! After listening to her speak we all exchanged sweet treats that we had made. Basically we each brought a container with something yummy in it and we went home with someone else's container and the treat they had made. Here is what I made:

I baked chocolate cupcakes and then cut the tops off. I then cut a heart shape out of the top. I then frosted with other part of the cupcake with a homemade strawberry butter cream frosting. I then replaced the top and filled in the heart with more frosting. They tasted good and looked alright...I thought they could have looked better. The problem was that I did not have a small heart shaped cookie cutter. I had a bigger one with three hearts within it so I had to use it for the impression and then hand cut the heart out. What a pain!!

I came home with a Canadian Amish type of candy. Not sure what it is called. It is made from mashed potatoes, powdered sugar and peanut butter. It is rolled up and then cut. Anyway they taste like an Abba-Zaba if you have ever had one. No one here has heard of it, must be American!

And on another note, Rylan wanted to try the camera the other night and here is a picture he took of Jeff and Carsten. Can you tell Carsten does not feel good? Poor guy is still having a very rough day today!
